Job Overview/Summary:

Strategy Engineering  is seeking a Sr. Piping Designer Lead who is responsible for supporting and actively participating in managing the Piping Department as well as participating in detailed Piping design activities in a variety of offshore and onshore projects.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Oversee and manage a team of Piping Designers including but not limited to workload distribution, workload and resource forecasting, project coordination as well as participate in new project proposals and estimates.

  • Design various onshore/offshore facilities including final deliverables such as a 3D design model, Piping Isometrics, Piping Plans, Line List, Tie-Point List and a Bill of Materials.

  • Interface with project managers and other discipline leads to ensure accuracy and consistency across our project deliverables.

  • Utilize engineering sketches, specifications and supporting documents in the designing, detailing of various Piping system configurations. Use CADWorx to model piping systems using provided project P&IDs.

  • Generate Isometric drawings using CADWorx and lSOgen for fabrication contractors.

  • Create equipment models from provided vendor information.

  • Create Piping Plans and Section drawings to aid in the installation of projects.

  • Mark-up P&IDs based on design modifications and client requested design modifications.

  • Produce deliverables utilizing company standards within project-approved schedule and budget. Assemble information and reference drawings from a variety of sources.

  • Maintain proper file management in accordance with company and industry standards.

  • Interact and communicate effectively with clients, engineers, designers, fabrication contractors, installation contractors, site inspectors and other office personnel.

Job requirements

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • Seven (7) years of Piping Design experience in the oil and gas energy sectors including supporting and leading onshore and offshore projects utilizing CADWorx, AutoCAD (3D design) and Navisworks (for viewing, publishing and clash detection);

  • Seven (7) years of experience in 3D piping design and equipment modeling in accordance with client engineering specifications/standards, such as slug catchers, fuel gas scrubbers, separators, pipeline pump skids, flare scrubbers, oil treaters, LACT units used in CPF (Central Processing Facilities);

  • Seven (7) years of experience in detailed engineering including equipment layouts, reading and interpreting piping & instrumentation diagrams, site plans, piping plans, isometrics (construction and stress analysis) and assisting in formulating department standards and procedures to help increase the efficiency and quality of the product.
