Job Summary:  


Strategy Engineering is seeking a Business Development professional with Oil and Gas experience in Onshore and/or Offshore markets preferably with focus on the upstream and midstream sectors.

The Strategy Engineering Business Development Manager (BDM) handles all aspects of new and existing customer relationships within a specific Service Line. The overall objective of a Strategy BDM is to service and grow existing accounts, develop new clientele, and continually pursue opportunities intended to increase long-term company revenue goals and expand Strategy's service experience and expertise.



Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Support and drive growth with existing client partnerships.
  • Cultivate new client work to expand Strategy's service experience and revenue.
  • Collaborate weekly with Senior Management to review Proposal and Prospect log.
  • Formulate weekly action plans and identify Strategy team support requirements.
  • Consistently and frequently conduct in-person client check-ins and sales calls.
  • Prepare sales update report, including customer visit action items and outcomes,
    status of target client interactions, and upcoming client visit plans.
  • Develop account plans to make sure all necessary internal resources are engaged to deliver exceptional service to clients.
  • Work together with Director of Business Development and Service Line Project Management to ensure revenues goals are consistently met or exceeded.
  • Collaborate directly with Service Line Project Management and Engineering Team members during sales calls, lunch and learns, and proposals as needed.
  • Confer with Project Management team to understand existing customer feedback and use that insight to help drive additional service offerings and improvements.
  • Gather and analyze market intelligence to stay current on critical industry news and trends. Identify opportunities for existing clients and develop new target clients based on market movement and Strategy service capabilities.
  • Attend high-value industry events and conferences to network and establish relationships with potential clients.
  • Keep accurate records of client information, sales activities, and update customer information in the Salesforce CRM.

Job requirements

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years’ business development/sales experience in Oil & Gas industry, preferably with focus in engineering consulting services.
  • Commitment to driving and managing a robust pipeline of sales activity to assure monthly and annual quotas are met or exceeded.
  • Ability to assess and actively manage existing Service Line clients while simultaneously seeking out and creating new revenue opportunities targeted at achieving maximum revenue.
  • Exemplify a genuine drive and desire to engage customers and understand their business challenges and potential opportunities.
  • Proactive solution development and thought leadership. Ability to translate customer insights and opportunities into tangible Strategy services and solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including written and oral communication, able to build relationships easily and deepen them over time.
  • Expertise navigating a complex sales process with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external, while fostering teamwork and shared ownership.
  • Track record of meeting/exceeding quotas and driving referenceable business.
  • Commitment to post-sales customer success and long-term relationship retention.
  • Proficient with Salesforce.com.
  • Ability to thrive both independently and in a team environment.
  • Superior time and client management skills.
