The Pipeline Engineering Manager is responsible for managing the pipeline engineering activities for the company. In addition to managing the engineering aspects, the Pipeline Engineering Manager also heavily interfaces with the drafting & design departments, other engineering disciplines, and the Project Management team in the course of business. Primary scope is design of gathering and transportation pipelines and related facility projects for a wide variety of clients within the energy industry. The manager will also coordinate with 3rd party Land, ROW, Survey, Construction / Inspection teams, and possess a working knowledge of DOT & PHMSA regulations for design and compliance. The manager will also be responsible for direct client interface for projects assigned as well as managing projects from time to time, especially those which are pipeline only or pipeline focused.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:
- Manage and supervise direct reports developing their technical competencies. Design and technical supervision of engineering activities associated with projects for the design of pipelines and pipeline facilities, including permit packages for FERC.
- Flow assurance utilizing Pipesim multiphase flow simulation software and experience with UniSim and/or ProMax process modeling software to develop models as required for verification of pipeline hydraulics, pump station design requirements, and debottlenecking of systems for expansion.
- Maintain in-house pipeline design standard documents for company and client use including, but not limited to, hydraulic analyses, alignment sheets and crossing details, Horizontal Directional Drill design, appurtenance detail drawings, material selection, and handling of purchased goods.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines including design & drafting interface to minimize conflicts and errors ensuring a smooth project workflow.
- Develop industry contacts to drive new business, meet with clients to define project objectives, prepare proposals and finalize project contracts, while interacting with clients, vendors, contractors, and fabricators to resolve project issues.
- Assist with preparation of technical documentation required for RFP / RFQ packages and prepare technical evaluations of equipment / service packages.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Minimum twelve (12) years’ experience in the Distribution and Midstream Oil & Gas industry with a minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in design of pipeline installation projects for transmission companies, e.g., meter and compressor station design.
- Working knowledge of Pipesim and experience with UniSim and/or ProMax; other hydraulic simulation software experience is a plus for growth, but not required.
- Working knowledge of current industry codes & specifications including API RPs, 49 CFR 192 / 195, and PHMSA’s Mega Rule(s).
- Excellent written and verbal English language communication skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Google Earth Pro, Bluebeam Revu, Navisworks, and GIS software applications.
- Willingness to work hours in excess of 40 hours per week as required by department workload.
- Must be a legal United States citizen or otherwise legally able to work in the U.S.A.
- P.E. licensure is preferred but not required.
