Job Summary:


The candidate will be a mid-level mechanical engineer and is responsible for design, procurement support, and fabrication support of various equipment on projects executed by Strategy Engineering. It is preferred the candidate has offshore design experience but it is not required depending on other qualifications.

 



Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Define requirements for design of various equipment for offshore and onshore production facilities.
  • Size various equipment (vessels, pumps, compressors, utilities) as required.
  • Provide Engineering Calculations for sizing and selection of equipment.
  • Prepare Piping & Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs) as required to define the facility design.
  • Prepare Technical specifications and selection of rotary and positive displacement Equipment: Centrifugal Pumps, Positive Displacement Pumps, Centrifugal and Rotary Compressors, Reciprocating Compressors, Vapor Recover Units, Turbines, Fans, Blowers, etc.
  • Prepare offshore facility modification permit packages, including: safety flow diagrams (SFDs), SAFE Charts, Equipment Layouts, Fire & Gas Detection Equipment Layouts, and permit letters.
  • Perform relief system analysis, hydraulic calculations, control valve sizing, & PSV scenario analysis and sizing.
  • Perform tank venting calculations and overpressure protection analysis.
  • Prepare various studies associated with selection of equipment.
  • Prepare specifications and datasheets for various equipment.
  • Prepare general arrangement drawings for the platform or facilities.
  • Prepare technical evaluations (tabulations) of supplier quotations/bids.
  • Preparation of requisitions for purchase and review vendor drawings.
  • Coordinate with drafting in preparation of piping drawings.
  • Interface and coordinate work with other engineering disciplines to minimize conflicts and errors.

Job requirements

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, chemical, or process engineering.
  • 5-10 years of experience.
  • Desired to be a registered professional engineer.
  • The candidate must be well versed in various laws and codes including API, ASME, CFR, and others.
  • Must be knowledgeable about Pipe Stress Analysis inputs and results.
  • Must have a working knowledge of common piping / valve materials and grades (e.g., carbon steel, stainless steel, HDPE, etc).
  • Must be comfortable with the ASME B31 Piping Codes.
  • Must be proficient in Excel and Word as a minimum and should be capable in other various business related software such as PowerPoint, Project, and others.
  • Proven ability to communicate well in written and verbal communications.
  • Motivation and commitment to providing interpersonal customer service.
  • Soft skills including a positive attitude, flexibility and conflict resolution.
